Grafana Workflows

Grafana Workflows is an automation engine built into Grafana Cloud that helps teams connect systems, orchestrate actions, and automate operational processes. It brings integrations, programmable logic, and AI capabilities together in a single environment where workflows can respond to events, run on a schedule, or be triggered on demand.

Connect systems and automate processes

Workflows combine integrations and programmable logic to automate tasks across Grafana and external services. Teams can call HTTP APIs, run Python code, transform data, apply conditional logic, branch execution paths, and coordinate actions across multiple systems. This makes it possible to turn complex, multi-step processes into repeatable workflows rather than relying on manual execution and disconnected scripts.

Visual and debug modes

Each node is available in both visual and debug mode. Debug mode lets you watch the node run and track incoming and outgoing data.

Bring AI into workflows

AI is part of both workflow creation and execution. Teams can use natural-language descriptions to create and test workflows with AI agents, or invoke Grafana Assistant as a step within an existing workflow. This enables AI-powered tasks to become part of larger, structured processes, combining the flexibility of AI with explicit logic and control over execution.

Build, customize, and reuse

Workflows can be authored visually or in YAML, with support for CEL expressions, version-controlled configuration, and infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform. Blueprints provide reusable starting points that teams can adapt to their own needs, reducing the effort required to build common scenarios while preserving the flexibility to customize them.

Start with incident response, expand beyond it

Incident response and management is one of the first areas where Workflows brings automation to Grafana Cloud. Teams can automate incident-related tasks, coordinate operational actions, and connect on-call processes with external tools. The underlying workflow engine is designed to support a much broader range of automation scenarios across the Grafana ecosystem.
