The Problem: design with a lot of limitations

The key technical requirement was to keep the basic screen grid and old software core. The design looked outdated, but all the main elements should have remained in place.

Old version:

My Process

Research, wireframes and prototypes.

  1. Collecting requirements and specs
  2. Creating clear wireframe of the interface grid
  3. Sketching and prototype-testing layouts on key users from the bank team and customers
  4. Selecting UI solution

Stages on the screen:

Creating UI

  1. Moving forward with selected layout, increasing design details and finishing all the screens
  2. Implementing interface design for small group of ATMs
  3. Minor design and bug fixing
  4. Releasing to ATM network

New interface

The result

The new design of the interface meets the requirements of the time: now it is a sharp-looking design.

I incorporated universal design principles into the style, allowing in the future to adapt the style to terminals with touch screens.

The numbers: 2 languages, 146 screens in each version.
